Dan Levy Shuts Down Schitt’s Creek Reboot—Here’s Why

Dan Levy just made it crystal clear: there will be no Schitt’s Creek revival without Catherine O’Hara. Two months after the beloved actress passed away following a brief illness, the Emmy winner is doubling down on his decision to keep the show’s legacy exactly as it is.

Before Catherine’s death, Dan was apparently weighing whether a sequel or revival made sense for the Pop TV phenomenon that ended in 2020. Spoiler: he’s decided it doesn’t. Not without her.

“Catherine was irreplaceable,” Dan essentially said through his actions. The actor isn’t interested in recasting her role or pretending the show could work without one of its four core family members. That’s actually kind of beautiful—he’s protecting what made Schitt’s Creek so special in the first place.

Fans were obsessed with the Rose family’s journey from riches to rags, and Catherine as Moira was absolutely iconic. Those wigs! That accent! The absolute commitment to the bit. No one else could touch it.

So if you were hoping for a Schitt’s Creek comeback, looks like that ship has sailed.
