A federal judge on Friday blocked the Trump administration from imposing new conditions on states that receive billions of dollars in federal food aid through the SNAP program.
Twenty Democratic states sued to stop the effort, and the judge sided with them. The administration had been trying to force states to comply with a range of new requirements to access the federal funding.
The ruling prevents those conditions from taking effect while the legal challenge continues.
