Seth Rogen’s Awkward ‘Invite’ Confession: He Kept THANKING Penélope Cruz

Seth Rogen just revealed the most hilariously awkward detail about filming a steamy scene with Penélope Cruz — and honestly, we can’t stop laughing. The actor admitted he was constantly thanking Cruz during their intimate moment in the movie The Invite, and the reason? Pure nervousness about her famous husband.

“I was so nervous,” Rogen joked, explaining that knowing Cruz is married to Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem made the whole thing extra uncomfortable. So what did he do? Apparently, he just kept saying thank you over and over again. We’re picturing the most awkward set energy imaginable.

To be fair, Rogen’s anxiety checks out. Bardem is not exactly someone you want mad at you. The Spanish actor is pretty protective of his private life and his marriage to Cruz, so Rogen being hyperaware of that situation? Totally reasonable. Still doesn’t make the mental image any less hilarious.

The good news: Cruz clearly didn’t mind his nervous rambling enough to cut him from the final film. And we’re betting Bardem got a good laugh out of Rogen’s confession too — or at least, we hope he did for Seth’s sake.
