Peter Hook REFUSES to Share Stage with New Order at Rock Hall Induction

Joy Division and New Order are getting the ultimate honor — induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame together. But there’s a massive problem: founding bassist Peter Hook has already made it crystal clear he won’t be anywhere near his former bandmates when it happens.
“Not after what they did,” Hook said, basically leaving zero room for interpretation. The iconic musician helped launch both legendary bands but clearly hasn’t forgiven whatever went down behind the scenes.
This isn’t the first time Hook has aired grievances with the remaining members. The bassist has been vocal about feeling sidelined and disrespected over the years, but this Rock Hall snub is next level. We’re talking about one of the most important nights in a band’s career — and he’s choosing to sit it out entirely.
New Order and Joy Division revolutionized post-punk and electronic music in the late ’70s and ’80s. Hook’s bass work was absolutely central to that legacy. His absence from the induction ceremony is going to be the elephant in the room that nobody can ignore. Awkward doesn’t even begin to cover it.
