Spike Lee Just REJECTED Prince Harry’s Handshake at the NBA Finals

Okay, this is awkward. Prince Harry showed up solo to Game 5 of the NBA Finals at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Saturday night, probably expecting a chill time catching some basketball. Instead, he got straight-up SNUBBED by iconic Knicks superfan Spike Lee.

The Duke of Sussex apparently went in for a handshake with the legendary director, and Spike? He denied it. Cold. No handshake. No acknowledgment. Just a hard pass. Harry had to stand there while Spike basically said “nah, we’re not doing this.”

We don’t know what prompted the rejection—whether it was intentional shade, a miscommunication, or Spike was just laser-focused on the game—but the interaction definitely caught attention. Harry kept his composure and continued watching the Spurs take on the other team, but the moment was definitely… uncomfortable.

The Duke’s been keeping a lower profile lately, so his surprise solo appearance at a major NBA event was notable enough on its own. But leaving empty-handed on a handshake? That’s the kind of detail that sticks with you.
