Stephen Colbert’s Wild Move 1 Day After CBS Goodbye

Stephen Colbert literally couldn’t stay away from TV for even 24 hours. The late-night king wrapped his final CBS show and immediately jetted to Monroe, Michigan to host a public access program. Yes, you read that right.

The 62-year-old comedy legend showed up to Monroe Community Media with zero chill, cracking jokes about his inability to stay off the small screen. “It’s been an excruciating 23 hours without being on TV, so I am grateful to be able to be here on Monroe Community Media,” Colbert said. Then he dropped a total burn: “before they also get acquired by Paramount.” Ouch.

The man literally could not resist the call of the camera. Even after signing off from one of TV’s most iconic shows, Colbert was right back in front of the lights doing what he does best — making us laugh and taking shots at corporate overlords. Only he could turn a public access show into appointment television.
