Curry Out: Warriors-Lakers Matchup Won’t Save Steph vs. LeBron

Steph Curry is done for the regular season. The Warriors ruled him out Thursday night against the Lakers, and that’s it—no Curry vs. LeBron this year. Zero matchups. The two greatest scorers of this era won’t share a court in 2025-26.

Curry’s knee injury has been nagging him all season, and Golden State isn’t taking chances with the playoffs coming. Rest now, dominate later. It makes sense. But man, we got robbed. LeBron’s still out here at 41, putting up All-Star numbers. Curry when healthy is a cheat code. We deserved one last prime-time duel between these two icons.

This is the reality of load management in the modern NBA. Teams protect their stars. Wins in April matter less than having everyone fresh in May. Warriors fans will see Curry in the playoffs. Lakers fans will too. But that regular-season spark? That’s gone.
